Rehabilitation of R-24 Bridge

Whitehouse Station, NJ

About This Project

With a history spanning over 115 years, the historic R-24 bridge required extensive restoration to preserve its structural integrity while honoring its historical significance. Located in picturesque, rural Whitehouse Station, New Jersey, this project involved removing the two aging bridge spans, rehabilitating the steel by replacing key structural components, sandblasting, and then repainting every piece before reassembly.

Working closely with the local historical society, our team ensured the preservation of the bridge’s original character while modernizing its structural capabilities. This project blended engineering precision with historical sensitivity, and though a new bridge was initially proposed, we knew that restoring the existing structure was a better option for the area.
