East 25th Street Bridge

Bayonne, NJ

About This Project

Through a competitive bid process, we were awarded the contract to replace this aging pedestrian bridge spanning the active New Jersey Transit railway in Bayonne, New Jersey, a project that required removing the old structure and constructing a modern bridge designed for both functionality and safety. Given the project’s location over an active rail line, meticulous planning and coordination were essential to minimize disruptions.

The new bridge features two elevators, providing convenient access to the transit terminal and ensuring compliance with accessibility standards. The work took place in a highly active area near a busy highway and a popular shopping center, further emphasizing the need for careful traffic and pedestrian management. Despite the logistical challenges, the Grade team completed the project successfully, delivering a safe and accessible pedestrian crossing that met the community’s needs and the client’s high expectations.
